Drastic drop in pages indexed - Big Daddy?

There is a drastic drop in pages indexed by Google in new Big Daddy Updates. Earlier I have a site when I search site: domain.com earlier it was 10500 pages now it is showing only 676 pages.
This is a problem with Big Daddy. So the question.. Is this temporary? Has anyone else heard any theories (http://www.submitshop.com/articles/Search_Engines/)/explanations? This Big Daddy has really hurt our traffic.

At present BD I showing less indexed pages
BD is showing scrapers, doorways and 404s
The site following proper SEO guidelines (http://www.google.com/webmasters/seo.html) are in problem
