Google's Project Jacquard weaves technology into textiles
While several designers have been experimenting with the idea of "smart textiles" for a couple of years, Google is one of the first major tech companies to throw its hat into the ring. The company's Project Jacquard initiative, which was revealed at a developer conference in San Francisco last week, weaves connective threads into fabric to forge touch-sensitive sections and panels that possess similar functionality to a smartphone screen.
